Poll Results!

And that's how you peeps voted my friends. Although not surprising - the most biased poll in the blogosphere - but I hope now that we've settled the issue. Espn, you're wrong and we're right. It's pretty simple you know?

However Big Blue Nation you, if you haven't already noticed apparently 15 of you would take bribery and 15 minutes of fame over being loyal to the fan base. Shame shame shame I tell you. I'd at least ask for Stewart Scott's contacts, Chris Berman's bobblehead, or Rachel Nichols' true makeup: black eyeliner and vampire teeth. Six of you say you have connections with ESPN. That's kinda interesting, I wonder how many of ESPN employees are die hard Kentucky fans.

Anywho, the results have spoken. A sincere thank you to everyone who voted. Next poll will be put up soon.

It's Time To Begin College Fantasy Pigskin Ain't It?

It's not a traditional way of playing, but this time of the year, this blog is very, very … very slow for quality updates that I feel it's time to make some homer-ized fantasy football picks Wildcat Blog style.

Normally fantasy football consists of picking from a pool of players and based on certain conditioned stats your team of players scores points as a collective team. Well if you know me at all, you should know I like to try and do things differently, so it shouldn't surprise you that when I say fantasy football, it ain't gonna be the way you might think, but feel free to play along with me.

Kentucky has 12 games this season, 8 of which are at home. Starting today, each Wednesday, The Wildcat Blog will offer its own unique way of fantasy picking Kentucky's schedule, and by August 15th, we should have the whole schedule completed for our readers to mull over with the understanding our predictions are just that. Predictions that don't really matter and are stupid to make this early on. We're cool like that (I know that phrase is probably getting old now).

So this is how it's gonna work: each week we pick players at key positions on Kentucky (likely will be the same each week) and predict their stats as it pertains to our Fantasy Football guidelines.

We Pick:
QB
RB
TE
2 WR
K
DEF
ST

Guidelines:
Passing/Rushing/Receiving: 1 pt per yd
TD: 6 pts each

FG: 3 pts each
Defense: 2 pts per Int and fumble recovery
Points Allowed: shutout= 10 pts, 1-6= 8 pts, 7-13= 5 pts, 14-20= 3 pts, 21+= no points
Special Teams: 5 pts bonus for kickoff/punt return TD (not including points for the TD), Blocked FG/Punt & onside kick recovery (offensive or defensive)= 2 pts each
2 pt conversion= 2 pts

All Offensive Turnovers= -2 pts (all turnovers will count against me).

Here's where it gets a little tricky though. If I predict a players stats higher than what he actually recorded in a game in any category then I receive no points from that player even though I might have received points from him in other areas. I must predict as close to or right on to what each player is going to record - going over or over indulging my prediction to be “safe” will not benefit me. For example …

If I predict Andre Woodson to post 250 yds, 2 TDs and 30 yds rushing and he really only records 233 yds, TD, 2 INTs, and 12 yds rushing then the only points I would get from him would be from his interceptions which would equal -4 pts because I predicted he'd throw more yardage and throw for more TDs and rush for more yardage than he really did and all offensive turnovers count against me. The goal is to predict as closely as possible without going over what each player will post in his stat column.

Then, I'll have a percentage number to compare what the players actually did to what I earned based on what I predicted they would do. In Woodson's case, he earned 233 pts for passing, 6 pts for a TD, 12 pts for rushing, and -4 pts for his INTs which equals A Total Possible Fantasy score of 247 pts. The 247 pts compared to what I actually scored, -4, would give me a total percentage number of about -2%, which basically means I suck. Again, the goal is to predict as closely as possible what each player will post up in his stats without going over, and predicting a too high of a number will essentially take points away from me. I'll add these numbers just like this for each player in my lineup and then come to a final game fantasy score. 100% would be the ideal number I'm hoping for - as close to 100% as I can. Then after all the games are played, since I could go into more detail but I don't want to, I'll just add up my percentages from each game and divide them by 12 to give me my fantasy football season score - you know, cause I'm cool like that - and I'm not a mathematician so I don't want to burst a vein in my head. Sound cool? Cool.

By August 15th, I'll be done with my predictions for each game (laying down my predictions for a different game on Kentucky's schedule here once a week) and by that time it will give me a couple weeks to tweak my predictions based on depth charts, injuries or whatever before the season starts. By Game Day time, I'll post my Official Predictions right before each game as they approach so as there won't be any controversy over what I predicted and it will also give me time again to tweak my predictions based on any late breaking news as it relates to the game. Enjoy the read, here are my early predictions, remember I only get points for the stats I predict without going over

September 1 vs Eastern Kentucky

QB Woodson: 235 yds, TD
RB Little: 67 yds rushing, 45 yds receiving, TD
WR Lyons: 65 yds receiving
WR Burton: 107 yds receiving, 2 TD
TE Tamme: 35 yds, TD
K Seiber: 2 FGs

Defense: 7-13 pts allowed, fumble recovery, interception

Final Score: 34-10 Kentucky

Basically I'm saying these kids will at least do this much against Eastern Kentucky, and if any of them fall short in any category I predicted for them, I earn no points from them at all, and if they actually did more or score more than I predicted well then I still only earn what I predicted they would do. It sounds fun. Complicated. And weird. But we'll see how this works out, I've never played it this way before. Do you wanna play along each week? Well leave me a comment with your predictions or email me. It's getting close to football time ain't it? I know, not really.

Me and Bradley, We Ball Like Ballers Do

Saturday Night Video Music Pick, episode 6

Tonight's episode features a little ASoB, a side dish of UK Bias, and a little Wildcats Thunder, and little story about how me and Ramel Bradley balled together and tore the court uuuuuuuuuup yo! Seriously, it was awesome for as long as it lasted. Those kids we played against didn't have a chance!

But first, here's your May 26th edition of the Wildcat Blog's Saturday Night Video Music Pick, enjoy.

The other day I was riding in the car and a song by Avril Lavigne came on, not the song you're about to hear, and it kinda brought me back a few years remembering some rough times as we all have from time to time. Then out of curiosity, I search for her on YouTube (everything's on YouTube man) and I found this song … and I just got caught in the moment man. The song rocks, and this version is probably one of the best acoustic versions of any song ever. Hope you like my pick.

First off this week, a couple of new blogs I've got my eyes on. Go Big Blue Cats I found through The Sports Guys which I found through oddly enough the search engine Google and not through others' blogrolls. But I'm always the last to know about these things man. I'm slow, but I'm willing to recycle news. I'm cool like that, yo. Interesting enough, the first celebrity Giddyup news of the year and it involves his autograph. Matt from TSG's is actually on the faculty staff as I understand, and believe you not, I hope Matt gives us more inside goodies on the campus of UK. I love stuff like this.

Wildcat Heaven has a cool piece on how Patrick Patterson might be Gillispie's Jamal Mashburn. Well, premature to say, however, if he does end up a UK star WH looks good. Give me a season and a half before I come to such a declaration, but I hope he's that good.

Wildcats Thunder has busted open a summer feature where they break down classic UK games from the past with the full game on YouTube! The full game. Did I mention the full game on YouTube? Dudes over at WT are cool like that. They have arguably the best freakin' archives of photos/games/announcing/ - UK related - on the net. These guys are true fans of Kentucky, so go to Wildcats Thunder and be a member and get all classic goodies your 500 gig computer can eat up! Oh yeah, about the game they bring back for us, this week they gave us LSU/UK, you know, the 31 point comeback win the Wildcats own on those kids in Baton Rouge. Suh-weet! Oh and since lately the Kentucky hate has been a hot button issue with me and others, Wildcats Thunder has noticed a little negativity from one of our own. Again, I'd rather hear a blogger's opinion than someone I know who is working for a media outlet to offer their opinion.

I don't know what else more I can say about ASoB other than they bring it every week more consistently than any blog I know of in the UK Blogosphere. They're the BlogFather of the UK blogosphere. I bow down to them in fear (I'm kidding, the only thing I fear is Rick Pitino dressed up in a Superman outfit drinking margaritas and showing up at Rupp Arena at the top of the rafters on Big Blue Madness claiming to have found a cure for premature NBA coaching gigs: Is Donovan reading this blog by chance?). With that said, I just want to say this to the guys at ASoB: You Like Me, You Really, Really Like Me?. No, seriously, if I ever meet anyone from this UK Blogosphere, it'd have to be Truz and JL, and Truz, I'd give you a man hug for that post 'cause that's the only, only way I can be cool like that. Thanks, and thanks for linking to my Poll, I haven't seen that much action (on my blog, on my blog) in that short of time ever.

JL Blue also posts a vid of Derek Anderson posterizing Louisville. I said it was good like shoving a cheesecake in your mouth. Now that I've seen it again, it's like shoving another cheesecake in your mouth with cherry toppings. Mmmm Mmmm good, yo! JL Blue is cool like that.

And lastly, and honestly, KSRadio has been pretty boring last week, although I should be ashamed but I haven't had time to listen in to the sports mob so I guess I don't have room to complain, but they've slowed down since the spring signing period has ended. They do have their nice recruiting notes from time to time, and frankly they're the best at it and I can't honestly keep up with who's who's where's where's.

However the guys at Kentucky Sports Radio did treat us to links to Woo dancing like a 70s Freak. Yo, whoever did that: it was off da hook! Please teach me. Not to mention that they gave us sweet links to Ashley Judd clips (all links courtesy of this link). Dude, just to hear Ashley Judd say my name, I'd think I'd … let's move on shall we? Oh yeah, and Marc Maggard gives us two interviews with UK recruits which are a good read (I want more WOO Wadio): Greg Monroe and Willie Warren. That's like a tall glass of iced tea, Lipton style, and chewing a whole pack Wrigley's Double Mint Gum all at once. Thanks guys.

Me And Bradley, We Owned The Court!

By now you're probably wondering what's this about me and Bradley showing our skills off. Well, it did happen. Really. Honestly. In a dream I had the other night. It was the most crazy, ridiculous piece of a dream that when I woke up from it, I found myself acting out what I was dreaming. Yo, I'm a true baller, that's why I'm cool like that. Let me explain.

So the setting was at some high school gym for one of my middle school basketball games. I don't remember who or why or when, it really doesn't matter, but I do remember my middle school coach and some of my preppy girly girl teammates, you know the guys who would starch their button up long sleeve shirts and wear them with the collar up, talk about a childhood crisis. Anyways, so we're starting the game and my coach starts calling out those of us who are going to start, and of course you know, he calls my name cause I ball like that you know. So I walk onto the court to face our opponent, and here is where you know it's a dream because there was no tip off, I started the game by throwing it in from out of bounds. Next thing I knew I realized Ramel Bradley was on my team and he was pushin the ball up court. He passed the ball to me and we ran a few set plays, and I'd give the ball back to him and he makes a three. He pointed to me and I pointed right back at him. We stole the ball on the next series and Bradley took the ball, everyone covered him, leaving me open for a layup which I gladly accept and swished. We went on a 12-2 run when Bradley and I started taking over the show before coach took us out of the game because we started missing some shots and not sharing the ball. Bradley and I were unstoppable. He'd pass to me, I'd pass right back to him, he'd hit the three, then he'd dish back to me for an easy bucket. It was sweet until we missed some shots and were sitting on the bench. We sat there for about five minutes and I remember I was beginning to tear up because I wanted to be in the game, then coach put me and Bradley back into the game. I inbounded the ball and I underhanded it and it bounced to some other teammate and he missed the ball and it went out of bounds. Turnover. I turned to look at my coach and I pointed at my chest and said “that's my bad, that's my bad coach, that's my bad”. After that Bradley stole the ball on the next possession, I ran down to the low post trifecta line - wide open - Bradley drove and kicked it out to me and I sank the trey and I did a little dance skipping down the court. It was sweet. The dream pretty much ended like that with Bradley and I sinking shots from outside the trifecta line back and forth. We shared the ball. Every other trip to the basket was our turn to shoot the trey, and Bradley and I were best friends yo. Best freakin' friends ever. We were ballers who couldn't be stopped. We tore up that group of 12 year old middle schoolers so bad that the crowd was chanting forfeit.

I don't know how much I scored, I don't even know how much Bradley scored, but I do know that when I woke up from this beat down on middle schoolers who wish they could've played half as well as Bradley and I played, I woke up with my hands in the air, yo! Hands in the air. Hands in the air.

I'm cool like that.

Enjoy the closing vid

How Much Is A Billy G Signature Worth?

See, Billy G clearly signed this shirt as “Giddyup”.

Well I do know this, it's clearly worth a blogpost at this point.

This comes courtesy of a new blog I discovered not too long ago - The Sports Guys - which I learned the author Matt Mowery is an employee for the College of Agriculture at the University of Kentucky and the kid was lucky enough to get Billy G's sig on his T-shirt as you see from the pic above. Matt explains his encounter,

Additionally, I had to gather myself because, face it, this could be my one moment to introduce myself, my one moment to get that candid interview while no other Press was around. I could ask the tough questions and be the first to break an epic news story; “The Sports Guys” would vault up the sports-media world. I knew this was it, so I approached Coach Gillispie, free t-shirt in hand, ready to do the exclusive interview and all I could muster was:

‘Could you please sign my t-shirt…sir…?’

Too bad you didn't bring a jersey or a game ball, that would've been sweet. I'm envious now, but like espn, I'll get over it.

Polls Up On The Main Page

Long day today, but I wanted to thank ASoB and UK Bias for plugging us as much as they have lately. Both these sites along with others have been really generous with swapping links and reading this, IMO, much lesser blog compared to what they offer, so I thank them generously for the plugs. It's cool and I appreciate it - I feel the love and I hope they feel it right back. Big Blue Nation needs to stick together on this net thing and I'm glad to be a part of it with this blog.

Now, as I mentioned here, a little poll I found at ESPN through ASoB got me a little winded and ticked yesterday and today I've learned ASoB and UK Bias have noticed my rant.

I'll get over it, it's just a stupid poll, you know? It's like when I was a kid and I would get so mad that I couldn't work out the rubix cube because it would get stuck trying to turn the darn thing that I'd throw it against the wall and yell running outside the door. Five minutes later I'm playing on a dirt pile throwing clay at moving cars (wait, I've might of made a discovery there as to why I did that now). I was like 8 or 9 and severely attention deficit before it was ever discovered by doctors. So anyways, today I thought one stupid punk'd poll deserves another, and I'm hoping Big Blue Nation helps me send a message. It's really quite funny, I'm laughing inside, honestly. So espn, (they don't deserve their letters in caps anymore), here's what it feels like to be singled out all the time. Keep it up with the negative subliminal Kentucky references and you'll get used to us as we're already getting used to you.

My poll is on the top left of the main page. Enjoy and vote! I'll keep it up for about week and then replace it with even a better one! FUN!

Ok, Now It's Going Too Far, ESPN

You want to have your opinion. Check. You want to be the worldwide leader in sports. Check. You want to hire guys who will comment on the sports fair and balanced. Check.

Whooaa, waiiit just a minute on that one. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

ESPN sure ain't no FOX and Friends round this Big Blue Blog, and with each aching day, ESPN proves to me they're becoming a joke of a franchise or corporation or whatever you want to call them these days in terms of providing biased free sports commentary and articles online. Let me stray for a moment.

ESPN is the ‘mainstream DEADSPIN’ of sports news, and now ESPN is getting to the point where they're over hyped, overrated, and over saturated in the sports biz with guys writing their opinions. Since bloggers now have a voiced opinion worth reading, it makes me think that ESPN allows biases to figure into their opinions without any second thought just to keep up with the popularity with other bloggers (didn't ESPN just hire a blogger - True Hoop?), however guys like me are of course not going to worry about showing our biases because we aren't getting paid behind a media giant, in fact, a majority of us aren't getting paid at all for maintaining our blogs because we do it out of passion. Now all of a sudden, EVERYONE has a blog. I mean even newspaper reporters have a blog to keep up with the bloggers. Kinda redundant no? I mean if you're a reporter for, let's say, ESPN, why must you have a blog and require people to pay you to read it anyways? Isn't that what ESPN was to begin with anyways, just one huge blog - which was free to read I might add. But now back to what's really itching my back side and inspired me to write this.

Courtesy of ASoB's comment section, ASoB commenter GregJ points us to a poll on ESPN' College Basketball Main Page that asks viewers Should Kentucky be forced to travel to UMass for a scheduled game?

The result -I voted a (heck) no- is surprising. Somehow 66% of 3,754 current votes seem to think communism is the way to treat Kentucky after paying their way out of a series with UMass this November when it was allowed, allowed people, it was put into the contract which was agreed by both sides, to be part of the contract should either, either side folks, wants to back out. Kentucky, with a coaching change, decided to do so. Now all of a sudden ESPN wants to paint the picture and make an example of Kentucky's choice to back out of playing UMass because, well, just because they can. What makes ESPN to put up poll questioning whether UK should be forced is beyond my understanding. Since when should any sports team or any entity be forced to do anything Mr. ESPN? Should we just let the NCAA dictate to each school who, when, and where each school in the nation in each sport should play? Is that where you're going with this Mr. ESPN?

This was a poor decision to put up a poll like this by ESPN. It shows their character and their ill-spirit against Kentucky lately. It only adds to the fuel. Instead of focusing on Kentucky, why not put a poll asking fans if buy-outs of contracts in such instances should be banned? UMass is just as guilty as Kentucky because they knew the option of backing out of the series was there. Come on, Kentucky knew UMass had that option as well. You don't think Kentucky knows that UNC has that option. I'm sure they do, I'd be surprised if they don't. If it's such a problem for just Kentucky, then maybe the NCAA should explore the possibility of making such agreements between schools permanent. As in eliminating the back out option for either school. You agree to play them for a certain amount of years, you have to own up to it. There's no backing out. How's that sound for the 66% of you ESPN Kentucky haters out there? Sounds pretty communistiliscious to me.

ESPN chose by putting up this poll to make this issue a Kentucky issue when in reality Kentucky AND UMass agreed to the contract between them, but instead of involving UMass in a poll such as asking fans should UMass have agreed to let Kentucky have a back out option in their series contract, or instead of putting a general poll involving neither school asking fans if buy out options in general should be allowed in series contracts between schools, ESPN CHOSE to make this personal with Kentucky, and I deplore them for doing so.

My boys UK Bias should be all over this. I, on the other hand, don't intend to ever put much weight to whatever ESPN ever says about Kentucky.

Starting.

NOW.

Should Kentucky be forced? Are you kidding me? ESPN should be ashamed of themselves, if for anything for their choice of vocabulary in the matter.

Keenan Burton Is Gonna Give A Hurton!

Definition, Hurton:

To simply run excellent routes and out run your cover man down the field for scoring range position while playing for the Kentucky Wildcats football program, preferably scoring six as you're leaving your opponent left behind you in the dust while you decide on which dance to do while soaking in the pleasure of hearing Big Blue Nation cheer you on louder than a busted muffler on an 1985 Rabbit.

Derived from: Keenan Burton, a Kentucky Wildcats wide receiver who is likely to be the best at his position in the SEC, a first-round NFL Draft pick, and an unknown play maker the nation will soon witness in 2007.

Rhymes with: Burton, Keenan's last name obviously
.

He'll run you down, pass you around, then take a look back and you won't be found!

Seriously though, Burton just might be among three offensive starters who has the ability this year to be in the Heisman mix: Burton, Woodson, and Little (and I wouldn't underestimate Tamme's ability either). Either way, what I'm trying to say is … Kentucky's offense is stacked for 07 if you haven't been keeping up. They could be the best offense in the SEC this year, but I say that cautiously until they hand Florida a butt-whooping like they so richly deserve.

08 Recruit Brandon Jennings, See-yuk Man!

That's sick pronounced, [SEEEEE · YUUUUK].

Not that I'm trying to act like a recruiting guru or anything, but Billy Gillispie seriously has me interested now to follow it for the first time this year. So I come across a kid I'm sure everyone in the UK Blogosphere already knows about, Brandon Jennings, the 2008 #1 PG from Oak Hill Academy by Scout.com. It's been said that his top two schools of choice are Arizona and UConn, but Kentucky is on his list also. Point guard wise, next year Kentucky could use him after losing Bradley and Crawford, so nabbing a kid like this could be beneficial now if Giddyup can work his smooth talk in landing the kid in Lexington. Just look at the kid now from this vid, you'll see in a couple years he should be even better.

· MORE JENNINGS: BrandonJennings.net

Could you imagine in a couple years, if we land this kid, having Legion, Jasper, Meeks, Porter, and then this kid to choose from at our leisure? Could be sweeter than a Lipton Tea plunge my friends.

07-08 Roster Overview

From the latest press conference Billy G states this about the current roster,

As a new coach coming in, getting the players we got to add, I don’t think it sends a message, but I think it helps not only right now, but for the future as well.

Those players added to the roster are, in the WCB's order of greatness: Patrick Patterson, A.J. Stewart, Alex Legion, Mike Williams.

And if I'm not mistaken, add walk-on Kerry Benson.

Obviously the addition of Patterson gives Kentucky a low post presence it hasn't had since Hayes and Azubuike left, but now with Morris' departure to the NBA, now the Cats have to once again muster up a little creativity to fill the paint area. However which way it happens, at least we know we just might see something unexpected come next season after hearing that Gillispie has given every spot up for grabs.

Again, with Patterson picking Kentucky, the Wildcats in my opinion could be that special inexperienced team of 2004 which were just one Rajon Rondo drive to the basket and draw the foul with nothing left on the clock away in the first OT against Michigan St from reaching the Final Four.

Kentucky is guard heavy, something like eight on the team, and depending on how well our kids improve and earn a starting spot, here are the Wildcat Blog's Off-season choices and potential starting lineups for the upcoming season.

Guards: Bradley, Crawford
Forwards: Patterson, Stewart
Center: Carter

If I were Giddyup, and trust me, I'm not trying to be but only for the sake of making this blog look stupid-funny as always, I'd have to start my seniors. Bradley and Crawford have earned their way to be the leaders of this team by their dedication and hard work and because I honor them for their four years of representing us. Bradley can be clutch at times and has the ability to not only knock down the three but he's fearless just as Patrick Sparks was, if not maybe a little more as he shown us from last year. Bradley is the team's motivator, he's the clutch baller waiting to rise in close battles. He can be the glue that makes everything stick together mentally as they begin their journey, his last, in Kentucky blue with a new coach and freshmen starters. Joe Crawford I see as being that secret weapon. The kid every team forgets about. The X factor. The Crawfornator. He has both the abilities Bradley has, only better. He's quiet, but he's hungry, and he's just waiting for the “GO” from Gillispie. The kid has a mean crossover that will make you kiss your kicks and he's just waiting to be unleashed at the right time - something we've rarely got to see. Both Bradley and Crawford will be Kentucky's main three-point shooters and if they're allowed to can also drive and create plays and foul shot opportunities against the toughest of opponents. Patterson and Stewart are both scoring threats who have to take some time gelling with the team. As with any freshman, nerves are going to have to be wrinkled out before mid-December and that's when we should see these guys relax a little and become more confident in their college game. Patterson is an immediate starter, no doubt. Stewart could very likely share time with Stevenson and Jared Carter. Carter, who has been rehabbing an injury, has to come out and prove he's worthy to start, otherwise Gillispie might have to go to a three-guard lineup which Tubby tinkered with last year. I'd like to think that Jared is healthy and ready and can provide at least some stability underneath the hoop. If not, we could see Perry Stevenson (this is all assuming Billy G doesn't sign anyone else this year) sharing time with Carter at Center. Overall, a starting lineup of Bradley, Crawford, Patterson, Stewart, and Carter could be very possible.

On the bench the main guy on the pine waiting to sub their jersey in will of course be Jodie sneak the three Meeks. The kid passed up Jasper as the freshman fav during last season simply because he can ball. I don't see anyone taking Bradley's nor Crawford's starting spot at the beginning of the season, however, if someone does during the season, it will likely be Meeks. Next on the bench has to be Jasper. He can run the court with the best of them and he has a Stevie Nash kinda way of making plays, and both Crawford and Meeks have proven to be clutch at opportune times in big must win games not only with their game making shots but also with their trifectas. Then we'll have Harris, Porter, and maybe yes even a little Mark Coury who will see more action than the rest. And with having two freshmen talents at the forward positions this year, it may be the case we could see Meeks, Bradley, Crawford, Patterson, and Carter/Stevenson/Harris in combination to starting lineup. It'd be easier for Gillispie since Kentucky is guard heavy to sub those guys and sub and rotate in for only Patterson than subbing and rotating in both forward positions. Ramon Harris and A.J. Stewart, with Stevenson possibly subbing the forward and center positions at times, could possibly be the best option for Gillispie next season at the low post position.

We do know this, that Gillispie likes to run the court at a fast pace, and we have kids on this roster that can definitely run. It will be just a matter of time for this team to gel together, get used to Gillispie's style (which I honestly don't think it will take long to adjust), and establish some consistency which will boost some confidence. It will be then when we'll see the seniors Bradley and Crawford own this team and garner the respect four year college players deserve in quite possibly what could be among the best and emotional farewell senior days Kentucky's basketball team has had since Hayes' time. I think Bradley and Crawford have underachieved, and this year could be their year to shine beautifully under the Big Blue lights of Rupp Arena. They certainly have that opportunity.

And next season? Well, before Patterson signed, I was saying that Kentucky would be lucky to win half their games. I think realistically now with Patterson and looking at the potential of Stewart and having a drastically improved and healthy Jared Carter, Kentucky again has an opportunity, of course if they can put it together, to be the quiet underdog to at least match what UK of 2004 did. The talent is here. The depth is here. And a coach to make it all happen definitely has the passion and ability to make these kids overachieve way further than the team of '04 did when they lost to Michigan St. in double OT in the Elite Eight.

I honestly am more optimistic than I've ever been after a coaching change, although Tubby's first year did surprise me. I'm not saying that will happen this year, these kids have to buy in and play to Gillispie's game as a whole, but after Tubby jetted off and before Gillispie signed on, I was thinking Kentucky would be lucky for an NIT bid this upcoming season.

Now, I'm thinking Kentucky's about to open a can of Gator repellent and force feed a little humility into Gainseville.

Better Get Used To The Haterz

As documented recently at A Sea of Blue, media sports writers seem to have it in to speak negatively about the University of Kentucky basketball team everywhere you turn around. In fact it's become so bad lately that the whole concept of irrationally hating on Kentucky has spawned Big Blue Nation's next best thing in the UK blogosphere: UK Bias. Just one visit there and you'll get the bitter taste of how bad it really is, and with the Patrick Patterson signing, hating on Kentucky is just going to get easier and easier for those who despise Kentucky's rich history in college basketball.

I'll leave the documenting of such events in the media to UK blogger colleague UK Bias, however recently with the booming of his site and one recent incident involving ESPN has got me fuming about how media guys who claim to follow and know Kentucky yet use their national audience to speak or … suggest by their awful spelling disrespectfully against U of K. And is it coincidence or have these guys honestly not do their homework which normal joe schmoe guys like you and me would expect these guys in much higher positions to report fairly and unbiasedly the news in sports. Maybe we're just naive to think maybe these guys wouldn't be influenced by their salary and fame.

At first when I heard of fans talking about how Kentucky has been treated unfairly in the media, just go to ASOB who links to some fairly convincing instances here, and here for example, I thought it was an overreaction, but now that it has come to my attention, I begin to see, with thanks to UK Bias and other links that Tru over at ASOB spits out for us from time to time, that maybe the reality is Kentucky is the most hated college basketball school. Add the seven titles, countless final fours, and UK's role in the 1966 title game and all of a sudden every UK fan is a racist trailer park redneck who can't spell but can stack beer cans in his spare time on his mom's coffee table while making YouTube vids calling for Tubby's head!

Now, I don't like calling people out, I rarely do, but when I do, it's usually because I'm very upset such as this next case considering who it is behind the subject.

JL Blue at A Sea of Blue directs us to an instance just as recently as yesterday where ESPN's Andy Katz misspells Ramel Bradley's name Jamel.

Now, you may think oh that wasn't that big of a deal, but it is. This is ESPN. These are guys who are professionals and self-proclaimed experts in the field they report in and yet they don't proofread what they write before they post it on the net? Andy Katz doesn't realize he misspelled Ramel's name or did he actually think his name was Jamel? That's what I want to know. He's the expert on Kentucky. Not me who is just a normal joe schmoe racist redneck fan of Kentucky (I'm exaggerating, I'm not a racist redneck - far from it) who helped drive Tubby out of town, I can't possibly know a damn thing about Kentucky now can I! But Andy, did you, the ESPN expert, even know Ramel Bradley's name to begin with?

And you know, if wasn't for A Sea of Blue's post I wouldn't have never noticed because I, probably like many many UK fans out there, didn't notice the error because Mr. Andy Katz corrected his major screw up before Big Blue Nation could notice for themselves.

And in fact, this isn't the first instance that ESPN screwed up on behalf of the Big Blue Nation which makes me seriously consider that U of K and it's fans are the most hated in the nation.

Via The Sports Guy, Matt Mowery also posts on the Andy Katz Screw Up, and he's the one that also points us to Dickie V's Screw Up, not once, but TWICE in the same sentence! What are the odds that two highly recognized ESPN college hoops analysts make the same mistake?

In fact, Dickie V doesn't have the least bit of professionalism to correct his mistake. It's still up! Yo, Dickie V, although I appreciate what you do with the Jimmy V Foundation, this is a public disgrace on Kentucky's basketball team, more specifically to Jodie Meeks and Ramel Bradley, and to all their fans. It's uncalled for, and I suggest before you post another stupid column to satisfy your own selfish ego to proofread your jabber and at least research Kentucky's team before going off sounding like you're the authority expert on them.

And while I'm on the subject of Kentucky hating, you can go over to AOL's Kentucky Fanhouse and see that one of the internet's best sports blogs, AOL Fanhouse could do more of an effort to make Kentucky's page worth reading to the average UK fan. I mean I find it hard to believe that Jamie Mottram can't find one avid Kentucky fan who is capable of passionately blogging about Kentucky. And that's not a knock on Jamie, I find him to be a very polite and good guy from the times I've talked with him, but it's obvious the Kentucky Fanhouse could do 100% better for an overall sports blog that wants to be the best whether this is done conscientiously or not.

And lastly, head over to Fire Billy, an article first posted that Patterson picked Florida about 30 min before he picked Kentucky. Yeah, I guess it happened. Imagine that.

Hmm, conscientiously or not? To the Kentucky fan, it really doesn't matter now does it? With Billy G's success or not, Kentucky is plainly just disrespectfully hated my many, at the very least, a very close second to Duke, and it's not going to get any better either as long as Kentucky continues to be the most winningest program in NCAA history.

UPDATE: If that's not enough for ya, I forgot to mention that Jeff Goodman over at FOX Sports thinks that the Patterson press conference was laughable. And I'm sure if Patterson had picked Florida that Goodman himself would write an article describing how giddy he was which made him soil his pants while eating a bag of cheetos during his lunch break. Nevermind writing something worth reading like how much Kentucky needed Patterson, but because it's Kentucky, it's laughable. Laugh till you cry. You know he wasn't the only one who held a news conference to announce his decision. Hater.

Meeks' Sister A Goalie Star

I found this interesting, Jodie Meeks' sister is a Goalie star at Norcross. She posted her seventh shutout of the season after advancing to the second round of the girls 5A soccer championships with a 4-0 win over the Kell Longhorns last month. Athletics must be in the genes.

And speaking of Mr. Meeks, in an interview with the Gwinnett Daily Post.com, Meek's expresses his optimism about next year's team …

Oh, I'm really happy. Even though Coach Smith is gone and we have a new coach, I'm still happy. And we'll still be a good, if not better team. And hopefully next season we can contend for an SEC title.

Nice to see that kind of positive attitude from one of our players, but me, if we don't land Patterson, next season is going to honestly be one of the most struggling seasons Kentucky will have in a long time. It's going to be tough and anything better than .500 - .550 will be overachievment.

J'Covan Brown Interview

Again this may be old news but news to me, but Chron.com posted a nice little interview clip with 08 Kentucky recruit J'Covan Brown during last month's Kingwood Classic. I think it's always cool when the public and fans can get a nice candid look at possible future players, and this is one.

What Better Way ...

… to cheer up after going 0-3 with the prospect of going 0-4 by the end of tomorrow than to get our minds off the possibility (maybe the REALITY) of Patterson not picking Kentucky with another Ashley Judd post.

Via In Case You Didn't Know, Ashley Judd is on the June/July cover of the latest C Magazine. ICYDK also posts for us some Ashley Judd quotes from topics of her stay at a treatment center for anxiety/depression to her role in the movie Bug. Check it out,

Judd, on her role in Bug - “The script put me in a ‘bet-you-can’t-do-this’ situation, so I wanted to prove that I could. I like projects that provoke me as an artist.

But perhaps her most interesting quote is this,

It’s so fortunate that people are interested in my movies, but when I talk to someone, all I want to do is discuss social justice and changing the world.” - Ashley Judd.

Also, check out these two pics of Judd and Danica Patrick chillin' together (unfortunately I forget where I found these at)

Well, I still can't stop thinking about going 0-3 in one day. Sorry Ashley, maybe only a nice edition of Woo Radio can cheer me up at this point - especially since my gut is telling me Mr. Patrick Patterson ain't coming to Lexington either.

At least someone is enjoying a little life right now.

There's One Thing Good Going For Patterson

He ain't caring too much about which school would love to have him.

Via Blue Devil Nation, Patrick, Fly Boy, Patterson enjoyed a recent high school prom, note the pic above. And well, while there's been some talk that he might just surprise Florida and Kentucky and end up picking Fluke, I mean Duke, Kentucky offers much more attractive ladies … that is if he's dating and the girl in the above picture is not a girlfriend or fiance. At this point though, Florida looks like a very tempting reality for Patterson, and Duke looks like a choice the kid could make too, however if there's a bit of competitiveness in the kid, he could just pick Kentucky for the opportunity to play against Lucas at least twice a year. Anyways I'm just rambling on, but come on, Patterson will have immediate playing time. No doubt he'll be a starter next year. No doubt.

But hey, from the pic above, it looks like our current man Patrick, Suave, Patterson ain't too worried bout the choice. Either way for him, he's going to be a welcomed addition to whichever school he decides on. I just wish he'd come to Kentucky and help us with our low post play.

Buck Up Big Blue Faithful ...

Hamga Picks UNLV, but seriously yall, when was the last time we saw a kid do this, although mighty impressive …

Shagari Alleyne comes to mind, although to Hamga's respect, Beas is much much better. So we lost a big man and we lose Jai Lucas to rival Florida. Honestly, who didn't see that coming? Losing Lucas isn't that big of a shock, the reality was after Green signed an agent, Florida was a lock for Lucas, easier said in hindsight, but wasn't that honestly the reality? The concern is more so that Hamga picked UNLV. It was a shocker. I didn't see a Hamga decision coming so soon. Now Gillispie has to honestly do what he can to land Patrick Patterson. For a good UK 07-08 season, Patterson fits well, Patterson is a must. If Kentucky doesn't land Patterson, it will be a disappointment, however I'll give Gillispie the benefit of getting into the Kentucky recruiting game late, but geesh, at least landing Patterson wouldn't put such a damper on the hopes of landing a much needed talented forward.

So the focus is now on Patterson. Let's hope Patterson doesn't have a public website huh? If fans are to take responsibility in recruiting, then student athletes should also be aware of the potential violations and not have a publicly available website of any kind which fans are able to post comments to (Yes that's in reference to the whole Hamga drama which is maybe why he didn't pick Kentucky, matter of fact, my gut tells that IS why he didn't pick Kentucky). Just my opinion yo.

So keep living blue yall, here's a vid for my mood

Hamga F******* Hates Us!!!, Hamga F******* Hates Us, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Billy tried so hard but Hamga left for UNLV because he had a freakin' MYSPAAAAAAAAAAACE, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!!!

The ironic thing is that at first I thought he looked like a character named DJ when in fact he looks like a guy who played Kyle in Road Trip whose real name is DJ!

Woo Wadio, Woo-View #3

Here are some more Woo quotes that each and every time just become and more and more priceless. Go hear the clip too because Woo shines insight on how Tubby might have held back on the talent his teams were capable of. Thank You KSR and Matt.

On his graduation, Woo: “I did graduate and I'm enjoying myself out by the pool rather than sitting in that non-air conditioning studio with you guys.”

After hearing Katherine the Intern is going to be at the Sports Mob party, Woo says, “Oh, ok, that sounds fine to me.”

Then Matt says, “I thought that the crew would be enough (reason to come to the party).”

Woo: “The crew would be enough? How many bottles of wine (do you guys?) have?” Reason enough to love Woo.

Woo on his graduation picture: “Yeah you guys as well how proud I was of my graduation by looking at the picture with our academic advisor.”

Woo's Blue Room? Woo, Sheray, and Randolph Morris chillin' with the ladies at some bar?

Woo: “No, you know, you guys saw too much and start making up the story. (somethin, somethin) That's how rumors start, yall get me in trouble.”

Woo on his Derby pick: “Yeah, yeah, you know how I do. I play my cards blind so I bet before they flip the cards.” (another Woo classic)

If Woo opened a restaurant and O.J. Simpson came in to dine, would Woo kick him out?

Woo: “I would hope he would spend as much money as he can in my restaurant and would be working (?) to come back because I'm a businessman. I'm not a hater.” Go Woo!

I'd just be sure not to give OJ a knife of any kind at his table. Have the waitress cut his steak for him.

Advice for Lucas and Patterson, Woo: “If they wanna play with the best, for the best, they better choose Kentucky.”

Bringing Your Hamga Fried and Scrambled

I realize this is about a week late, but hey, I really don't think anyone DOESN'T visit KSR anyways, so this is old news, but if you read this blog you should know that I love to make old news new news, it's part of my mission statement man, so …

Matt Jones wasn't kidding at all, and I'm not making fun of the kid at all, but I'm just saying it was very, very difficult to understand Beas Hamga.

So instead putting down here Hamga quotes from KSR's interview, I decided instead to put together a comprehensive list of the words and phrases that I did understand from Hamga's interview. It really was a quick interview if you just stick to what you could understand. You're welcome :).

Beas Hamga

uh, you know everyday, at the time you know, theres some thing everybody has to bring to a team, yeah i mean, you know my mind, old seven club, oh yeah it was fun, it was very fun, i think hes gonna graduate next weekend, it was fun it was fun, gonna be, i might gonna play, i might gonna start right away, you know, they really want me to go there and start right away, they want me, they like, like I'm saying I don't know if I'm going to be there, that's what I'm looking for, hold on what do you mean by favor, yeah right now, unlv they show me love, and Kentucky also, alright thank you.

And during the whole thing I thought I heard him say he'd beat up Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and Aquaman and beat them up together like fried zucchini and chili beans and mash them together and make delicious sandwich with fresh saltine crackers with tall glass of milk for lunch. But again, I'm not really sure.

My Hamga has a first name, it's H-A-M-G-A. My Hamga has a second name it's I'll stuff you in your face!

Tyler Zeller

Maybe I'm spoiled by Woo Radio, but this was a pretty boring interview with Zeller giving pretty generic answers especially about playing with Hamga and DeAndre Liggins.

However the highlight of this interview was when Matt Jones tells Zeller that being able to play the piano will help with the ladies and then Zeller kinda half laughs. I have a feeling he was blushing on the other end.

Me need Woo food. Me dying from lack of Woo Wadio.

No Cover Charge, Come As You Are

Saturday Night Video Music Pick, Episode 5

My favorite posts from my favorite UK blogs

Toby Keith
, I Love This Bar

First up tonight's recap will be much more selective than recapping what most Kentucky Blogs have posted during the week. At some point I have to be, however I suggest seriously if you haven't already to bookmark these sites because they bring it every week with their own spin on UK news.

A Sea of Blue

· As if we Kentucky fans have to put up with the majority of the national media calling UK fans irrational and spoiled, these guys are already jumping on the bashing Billy G wagon. So soon don't ya think?

Punks.

· With that said above, Truz, who I'm beginning to really like to read for his intelligent UK commentary (I mean I sure don't bring it), does a little bashing of his own. I'm with ya man. I'm freakin' with ya.

· JL speaks up and reminds us to relax a little from what all the naysayers are saying about us. It's quicker when you have a bottle of vodka and some margarita mix though.

· The only Pitino curse I ever knew of was when his name sounded like Petrino(sp?).

Kentucky Sports Radio

· Beas Hamga and Tyle Zeller interviews. Suh-weet.

· Meet your new UK assistant coach lyp syching to a girly song. Please tell me they had chicks in that room.

· Ashley Judd graduates UK, but the heck with that, just go here to see another hot pic of her. Trust me when I say, thank you Intern!

· Dude, Woo Radio is the best thing since the invention of mixed peanut butter and jelly spread. Go check out Woo Radio #3 (#3 right?).

· Ten bucks Donovan doesn't stay in college long enough to amount to a tenth of what Adolph Rupp means to us. Cash up the ying yang talks man and I'm beginning to believe that Billy Donovan is just waiting to coach an NBA team that's at least decent already to contend for playoffs rather than having to rebuild one. I mean if someone offered you MORE than 5 mil a year what the heck would you do? Don't lie.

Wildcats Thunder

· Is Hamga a UK lean? Let's just say, I hope he visits UK.

· Here's some UK football prospects from Messenger.

· And here's a nice piece by Messenger breaking down the Billy G situation as it stands currently. Great post!

Carrie Underwood, Wasted

Go visit Fire Billy just cause. If you haven't already then do so now because I have a feeling once Hoops season approaches the guys running this site will be awakened with freshness that only Fire Billy can provide!

Fire Rich seems to adore Tim Couch as much as I do. In fact, they're the only ones if I'm not mistaken to at least acknowledge Couch's induction to the Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame. Great work guys.

If it wasn't for A Sea of Blue I wouldn't have never known about this next new site in the UK Blogosphere so much thanks to Truz and JL because they really spend more time than I obviously scanning the web for new content, but this next site I hope stays up because it potentially can be GREAT …

UK Bias shows us an instance of ESPN hatin' on Playshaun when he dunked on Rasheed.

Haterz!

Well that's it for tonight folks. Every week I try and save the best UK Blogposts I come across and give them back to you AGAIN every Sat. night.

Hope you enjoy this.

Oh Yeah, BTW, this next link I give to you because I love you and it would be a dishonor to my own readers if I don't share this vid if you haven't seen it already.

PAUL BROGAN is a genius. Who is Paul Brogan? He's just this guy who has this sweet parody melody of his favorite NBA Players. I didn't put the vid on here because near the end he shows a partial picture of a male body part. Sorry, that's just the way I am, however, if that doesn't offend then you HAVE TO GO see this vid. This my friends is the true definition of a music parody. Enjoy.

Don't Pout, Got Couch?

Let him work out for you, you pesky, greedy, insincere NFL GM's & Head Coaches out there.

I will probably forever have strong negative feelings with the Browns' front office for the way they handled Tim Couch, you know basically the way they just kicked him to the curb after treating him like damaged goods. And yes, that's their right I suppose. The NFL has become more of a(n) *** Business than athletic entertainment the way it used to be back in the 80's when I first started following the league (excuse my French, I have no degree).

According to Couch's Wikipedia infor-mative page, Couch suffered from a shoulder injury, nagging league injuries and of course the broken leg at the end of the 2002 season which ultimately led to the Browns dumping him like spoiled milk. His last attempt at a comeback into the league, and his last action on the field, was the pre-season with the Green Bay Packers in 04, Go Pack Go!, however it was his rotator cuff which kept him off the field, off a roster, and led to shoulder surgery in Feb 2005.

In fact, Tim, Ain't Lyin In A, Couch is attempting one last let me show you what I got comeback into the NFL after having a second surgery on his shoulder last June and hopes to be trying out for teams as soon as June of this year.

Couch talks about giving it one more run,

“I had two shoulder surgeries, and I'm going to give it one more run at getting back in the league. I still feel like I have some good years left in me, and I'm going to give it one more shot.”

Couch, who will turn 30 this July and the newly inducted 2007 class member of the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame, shouldn't be all that disappointed though should he fail to land on an NFL roster this year, although The Wildcat Blog wishes him the very best. I mean, life really can't be all that bad when you're married to a former Playboy Playmate huh?

That's Heather Kozar, Playboy's 1999 Playmate of the Year.

But we do hope that Couch finds a place for himself in the NFL!

Good Luck Tim!

Good To See Ashley Judd Do Some Movies

When I first started this blog on AOL some years ago, I think I made more references to Ashley Judd than anything. Ok, I'm exaggerating, but you get the point. And when I came across this hot pic of her at KSR

I began to think of how I've let this blog seriously neglect UK's Queen. Not that it's hard to find pics of her, just google her, but I have unfortunately given this blog injustice by not mentioning her enough (or none at all!).

And it's kinda hard giving props to her or admiring her beauty without looking like some crazed fan whom which it only cares about.

BTW, I wonder if Nick Lachey still wants to be to the Cincinnati Bearcats what Ashley Judd is to Kentucky?

Anyways, Ashley's been out of the news for awhile, I hear that she talks about her 47-day stay at a rehab center for depression in the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly, and while that's her business, I wish her the best of luck in everything she does. And with that I find that our Queen of the Bluegrass has a couple movies in store for us.

Bug

In Bug, Judd plays a lonely waitress living in fear of her abusive ex-husband (Where have we hear this plot before?). But the movie seems to center around these, well, bugs. Just go to the site and watch the trailer. It's kinda creepy man. It's a thriller/drama/suspense/horror/not a love story movie.

Crossing Over

In a movie with Harrison Ford, Sean Penn, and Ray Liotta, Judd will join them in this movie which has just begun production about illegal immigrants trying to get legal status in LA which sounds like a much more interesting movie than about bugs.

Whichever movie is more successful, here's to wishing to see Ashley Judd more in the spotlight because her fans miss her.

This, My Friends, Should Disturb You

Billy Gillispie has made typhoons curl up and dissipate compared to the impact he's already made in Kentucky's recruiting. In fact, I'd be afraid to shake the guy's hand in fear he might take over telepathically and force me to march to Louisville and beg Pitino to let me volunteer to be his gopher boy. Billy G is the man. Right?

However, honestly we all have only seen half his talents. Sure we've heard what he can do, unless you're an A&M fan, then you've seen and are pissed already. Understandable, but for a true assessment of what Billy G will be like at Kentucky we really have to wait a full season huh? What's he going to be like on the sideline, how is he really going to treat his players once pressure to win is riding up his back ready to force him into a decision he might regret? We haven't seen that yet, and I'm kinda anxious to witness that moment when it comes. No doubt he's got the personality to get the kids to love him, but once it's time to get serious, THAT'S what I want to see if Billy G can do in Lexington what he's done in TEXAS. Call me middle of the road optimistic. I like Billy G, just haven't seen enough of him for a true opinion.

With that said, this is not why I'm writing this post. As reported by Wildcats Thunder and KSR, Billy G, heading the Kentucky fa-chizzi, has hired an assistant, or staffer, or what is quite a fact, a former Texas A&M hoops baller, Chris Walker.

Now I suspect Billy G knows what he's doing, I mean, I'm just a blogger who has no idea what recruiting or coaching is all about though I try to follow it, so I'm not going to question Billy G's efforts and decisions to do what he sees fit.

HOWEVER, I will question this (thanks Matt Jones) …

Now this I give all my lifetime Kudos to Matt Jones because he posted this vid before anyone cared. Well, now we care. According to Matt, the Chris Walker Billy G just hired is the guy standing up at the very beginning of the vid lyp synching like a girly girl(now there's two guys standing at the beginning but neither guy makes a very good case for himself for this disaster). Hey, I don't know if they were drunk or not. Heck I don't even know if that's what college students do when they have no girlfriends. I don't even know if that's excuse enough for the vid. Was it a dare and three extremely hot chicks in bikini thongs just as drunk as they are behind the cameras waiting to play nekkid thumpers await? I don't know, my imagination would love to think so, but, ahem, this is all we see.

And I'm no rocket scientist, but I'm pretty sure this is one of the Gayest. Videos. Ever.

And no offense to Billy G, in the Ken-tchizzy, who just hired him on his staff. I mean we all have our embarrassing moments, just some worse than others.

Tip: In today's time, don't video yourself when your drunk or even acting like your drunk, or even if you have a personality which makes people assume you must be drunk because someday, sometime, at some point, YouTube will latch on like a tick in a very, very, very bad place … if you know what I mean.

"Don't Want You Thinkin' Bout It, Maybe You Should Blog About It, Cuban, Your Mavs Lost To An 8 Seed In A 6-Game Battle!"

Even though Golden State lost to Utah in Game 1 of their Conference Semi's 116-112, (Buike didn't play), I did however find quite an amusing vid set to the tune Justin Timberlake's song What Goes Around Comes Around celebrating their history making defeat of the Dallas Mavericks in Round 1. Um, just go see it!, (or watch below) and stick around for the closing credits … it doesn't get any better than this.

What goes around goes around goes around goes right in to beat you dow - wwwn.

So what is Mark Cuban feeling these days since his team was on the short end of a history making event? Well it looks like the blog maverick is speechless. It's kinda funny though for an owner's blog, which I admit I've visited maybe 3 times, you'd assume he'd be talking about his playoff loss to Golden State. At least a, I'm pissed I don't wanna blog about basketball right now, or something, but Cuban fans get nothing. The only thing close on his front page related to basketball is a post where he is ripping non-Dallas Maverick fans to stop emailing him about officiating. Oh well, I'm disappointed, but who cares.

All I know is that I'm a Golden State fan now that Buike has joined the team; I'm actually a fan of any team who holds on its roster a UK alum. That's just the way it is. I'm a HUGE Kentucky HOMER and proud of it.

And speaking of Azubuike, yet again, Wildcats Thunder member stizzack posts that our boy Azubuike made ESPN's Top 10 plays with a nasty breakaway dunk. In his own words: “… it was old school Buike. Ky style!

I've spent most the morning trying to find this vid and I have no luck finding it. I have little patience in things like this and I'm not the greatest internet searcher either, but I try, so if any one of you have seen this vid and know where I can get my fingers on it, please post me a comment telling me where. I would really appreciate it because I wanna add it to this post.

Aside from this non-news which is news now (J/K, I'm really laughing) I might be away for a couple days as I'm working on a special post for sometime Friday unless PP or/and JL announce they're coming to UK then I'll post something special quicker than a bunny rabbit in a carrot farm.

What the heck, now I just wanna dance to some JT.

Sign The WE WANT LUKASZ OBRZUT ON DANCING WITH THE STARS Petition!

I honestly am not sure what will actually come of this, but this is a way to show your support and I will do what I can to get this to the right people.

As Woo (Lukasz Obrzut) said on the Sports Mob, he feels he has to be a star first before ever thinking of going on Dancing With The Stars. We here at the Wildcat Blog think otherwise. Big Woo IS a star, and I think he SHOULD express some interest for going on the show. In fact, I'm so sure he'd be a star on Dancing With The Stars that I'm officially asking all Kentucky fans to leave me an email or leave me a comment here on this post with your name (first) and location (city, state) with your words of SUPPORT of wanting to see Big Woo on Dancing With the Stars. Once I get what I feel is enough support, I'll send this on over to Matt Jones and I'll contact whoever I can at ABC.com and send them the undying support for our Big man for being on the show, and who knows, maybe they make a special college athlete edition of the popular dance show or maybe they simply do contact Lukasz! How cool would that be man!

Woo Radio: Woo-view 2

I know it's been a good week since Matt Jones graciously shared with us the 2 hours of Big Woo on the Sports Mob, and as I've said recently I've been so behind on this blog and Kentucky news over the past week that catching up to things like this I'm finally getting to now.

Now I've enjoyed the first edition of Woo radio, so funny I had to post what I thought about it never knowing that actually it might be a recurring thing over at the sports mob. So it's without hesitation that I post my recap/thoughts/Woo quotes from the 2 hour Woo radio edition with much much thanks to Matt Jones and his crew over there. It's Woo-erful!

Woo Radio, Hour 1

· Prince vs. MJ. Somehow the conversation went to who's better Prince or Michael Jackson to questioning whether Carlos Boozer trashed Prince's crib in a house party. It was later confirmed that it was Prince who trashed Carlos Boozer's crib.

Woo's response though: “No, I was in Poland at the time … No, I was washin my hands from it.

· Matt Jones quote to Woo: “You can say butt, it's ok.

· MJones reading comments:

Chris Tomlin sounds like the last remaining midget from the Wizard of Oz.

Like Woo says, Prince is a fruit.

·More Woo quotes.

Woo on maybe participating on Dancing with the Stars: “No, I have to be a star first.

Well don't speak so quickly there Woo, you ARE a star, and The Wildcat Blog is now petitioning ALL KENTUCKY FANS to email The Wildcat Blog with your support for wanting to see Lukasz Obrzut. More to come on this in a bit.

Woo on meeting Gillispie and setting up workouts with other teams: “Yeah, yeah, I'm definetly looking forward to that that cause you know I'm mean the situation when I came move to Louisville and go see my mom and dad and hey I'm home, can I move into the basement.

That's classic my friends.

Woo on paying him $50 to say wa wa wee wa: “No, I'm not Borats fan, I'm polish fan.

· New Woo Nickname: Orange Juice.

Woo: “This is not first time hearing this, so we may get Bobby Perry on the phone maybe and he can explain a little bit about the nickname cause theres a special story that come with the nickname.

· How tough of a load is the Curry Flurry down low? I bet yall have to double team him, right?

Woo: “His hair or his body?

· Jasper leaving?

Woo: “You guys read too much newspapers.

· Who has worse hair: Matt Jones or Saul Smith?

Woo: “Before or after surgery?

· On if he's going to open a restaurant.

Woo: “You know restaurant business is very risky business.

And there's your business tip of the day.

· Woo's Derby Pick: “I don't know, number two?” (Classic!)

And aside from these classic Woo quotes, the first hour is also full of the guys questioning Woo's drinking capacity. The show is really that funny and spontaneous.

Woo Radio, Hour 2

· More goody quotes and comments.

Tomlin's voice causes me hallucinations.” (some commenter)

· Woo's favorite movies: “Gladiator, Braveheart.”

Second favorite snack: “Scooby snacks.”

· Conversation about a pic online with Woo wearing a camo hat and nothing else …

Sheray Thomas: “Whoa!!!.”

Woo: “That might be last time I come in here. You guys keep postin stuff like that!

· Reggie Hanson a little beast. Does he still got it?

Sheray Thomas: “A little bit. I don't know if he can hang with the young boys, but …

· More Goody Comments

Woo is so wonderful he breast feeds John Madden.

Woo is the only man to ever defeat a brick wall in the game of tennis.

BREAKING NEWS: Woo makes the two horse the favorite even though the draw hasn't happened.

The Tomlinator is so good, he's woo-liscious.

· Conversation about Bradley getting in Bogut's face and talking smack

Woo: “He knew he was next to the bench when you have Sheray Thomas Randolph Morris, Lukasz Obrzut, and Shegari Alleyne ready to go so … I'd be talking smack too!

· HIGHLIGHT OF SHOW: Woo takes a set of Louisville basketball team cards and throws them on the ground. You can here them smack the floor! Priceless.

· Apparently something made Big Woo cry, not on the show though, but we're wondering what made him cry.

Woo: “Maybe on the next show.

· Sheray Thomas and Lukasz Obrzut on Kentucky's fan base.

Sheray Thomas: “We appreciate all the love and support you've showed us.

Woo: “Thank you to all of you who listened to us and who stops by and says hello and just have a regular conversation like we're another person. I also wanna apologize for my cronky days cause as my roommate know and a few other people I get (something) cranky, especially when I'm hungry in the morning. I'm not the morning person.

Funny stuff I have to say. Keep Big Woo on the airwaves!

PlayShaun and Buike Advance

Chuck Hayes and his Houston Rockets ended their run perhaps to their fighting end Saturday night losing Game 7 to the Utah Jazz 103-99. Hayes scored 26 points for the series. That's for the series. Even though it was disappointing, UK fans still have things to be proud of via the NBA, at least the way I see it. Buike and Prince are still alive.

Tayshaun Prince, perhaps the biggest UK alum currently playing in the NBA, and his Pistons continue to make noise in post season play. They defeated the Chicago Bulls in Game 1 of their conference semi-finals 95-69 after sweeping the Magic in Round 1. Tayshaun is averaging 15.8 ppg.

In fact Natalie over at Need4Sheed has this awesome pic of Tayshaun you see to your left and if you're interested go check out this awesome highlight reel of Playshaun, I mean Tayshaun. Pretty cool stuff.

Kelenna Azubuike and his Golden State Warriors made a little NBA history when they checked up on Mark Cuban's Mavs as they defeated them 111-86 and now face the Utah Jazz team which took Hayes' Rockets to 7 games. Kelenna isn't playing much though, only 4 games, 3 mpg, and 1.0 ppg.

While we're on the subject of Buike, it seems as though the Great Britain coach Chris Finch is calling on Azubuike talents for a summer program which leads up to the European B Championship qualifying games in the fall. He's one of three NBA players called up (or is it over).
