UK Hosts Indiana

For the first time in 17 years.

Indiana beat Kentucky last year 79-53, and this year the Wildcats look to strengthen their 27-22 series edge over them with a convincing win tomorrow at Rupp Arena. The Hoosiers are 5-2 and their two losses come to Butler by 5 and to Duke by 3. They're shooting only 37 percent from three's. Roderick Wilmont, and Lance Stemler doing most of their damage with the three ball, but they also have two other guys (AJ Ratliff & Armon Bassett) who have put up over 20 attempts from three-point land. D.J. White, Indiana's junior forward from Alabama is the only guy on his team who has started all seven games for the Hoosiers. He's shooting 52%, the best by anyone on Indiana's squad who has shot 40 or more attempts. He's second on the team getting to the free throw line, and he leads the team in rebounds (54), and blocks (15), and scoring (12.6 ppg). Indiana is shooting 47% as a team.

Kentucky knows they're going to have to take care of the ball if they're going to have a shot tomorrow and so far this season they haven't faired up to expectations when the game is nationally televised, so they're going to have to play better than they have. They are playing a team that lost to Duke, at Duke, by only three points and held them in the 50s. Turnovers have been an ugly trend for Kentucky that hasn't improved any yet, not even against Chattanooga, and according to Ramel Bradley, Coach made them carry the ball wherever they go.

“ He’s trying to get us to take care of it, love it. She (the ball) already knows I love her, but now I have to take care of her a lot better. I know it’s a woman because I wouldn’t want to keep a guy around this much. I would never want to spend this much time with a guy. ”

Oh that Bradley is a real jokester - just as long as he ain't puttin' a wig on the ball and callin' it Beyonce or anything, he be ok man. He be ok.
