Fantasy Pick: South Carolina

Today's fantasy pick is South Carolina. Now SC finished at 8-5 last year with all their losses coming to teams in the Top 12 while capping off their season with a Liberty Bowl win over Houston. They return a lot of their players this season as well, six on offense, ten on defense (starters), and are comprised of 24 seniors, 25 juniors, 26 sophs, 11 redshirt freshmen, and 4 true freshmen. Players to watch on offense include QB Blake Mitchell, WR Kenny McKinley, TE Andy Boyd, and TB Cory Boyd. Defensive end Jordin Lindsey, Eric Norwood, and linebackers Casper and Jasper Brinkley are the kids to watch on D. Jasper Brinkley is in fact an All-American candidate after earning All-SEC honors last year, and according to Scout.com, DE's Lindsey and Norwood should be in the mix also this year for all-league honors.

So what does this game impose on Kentucky. Experience vs Experience. Both teams return healthy talented players on both sides of the ball and by the time this game is played we should know what to expect out of Kentucky's defense. If I recall correctly this game is an ESPN game played in the evening which is one of the reasons why this is an important game for Kentucky after losing out on national exposure with their rivalry against Louisville. Scout.com also ranks South Carolina four spots ahead of Kentucky at #34, so that just might give you an idea of how close this game I think this could be depending on Kentucky's performance on the road. I predict a Kentucky win, but please remember, my fantasy pick isn't so much about who wins than it is about predicting Kentucky's stats as close to the actual as possible. With that said, I think this will be a pretty good game. Spurrier is completely loathed by me. I just don't like the guy because of his over arrogant cockiness he established at Florida, so beating SC is as important as beating Florida this year, in my opinion. Let's get to my predicted stats …

SCORE: Kentucky 26 SC 20 OT

Woodson, 245 yds, 2 TDs, int, rushing TD
Little, 75 rushing, 50 receiving - TD
Burton, 95 yds, TD
Lyons, 75 yds
Tamme, 60 yds
K, 2 FG
DEF, 2 fum rec, 20 pts allowed, 4 sacks
