Slow Down Billy! Get Your Cut First!

Maybe surprising to some, definitely to me, that Billy giddyup Gillispie has been so focused and busy on the recruiting front that he's been operating without a contract. That's pretty surprising since this job has been touted as the best in college basketball and he and Mitch Barnhart haven't come to terms yet? I know some of it has to deal with Gillispie filling his staff if I read correctly and finalizing things. Says Barnhart,

“He has done a remarkable job in 2½ months. He's worked really, really hard to recruit, to bring some players in here that give us a different look. Billy has certainly given us the energy that we needed and that that fans desired.”

Yeah, I get the feeling too that Gillispie has already earned far more than what probably was agreed upon.
